DescriptionOVERVIEW:The Youth Services Worker reports directly to the Shelter Director and collaborates closely with Case Managers. This role involves organizing and facilitating fun, healthy, and educational activities for the children of program participants.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Plan, supervise, and oversee children’s activitiesSet and clean up after activitiesDevelop and facilitate monthly family nightEvaluate children’s program activitiesPromote opportunitiesKeep all children's services bulletins up to dateReport daily activities in shift notesDistribute snacksCreate a monthly plan of activities with the Corps OfficerAssure safety in the children’s service area and report issues to the maintenance departmentMaintain cleanliness and organization of children's services areasMaintain equipment and supply inventoryKeep all games and supplies in good conditionFulfill statistics reportingAttend staff meetingsOther related duties as requiredEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or equivalent (required)First Aid and CPR certification (within first fourteen days of employment – company provided).Tuberculosis clearance (within first seven days of employment – company provided)Experience working with children and/or families (preferred)Experience with Microsoft programsSKILLS AND ABILITIES:Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)Integrity in handling sensitive information in a confidential mannerAbility to multi-taskGreat communication skillsAbility to work with a diverse populationPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
