We're looking for an admitted attorney for an extremely promising Associate Attorney - Post Conviction Relief position within a premier law firm with lots of room for growth. This is an opportunity for a dedicated Associate Attorney to gain valuable experience in both criminal and immigration law and further their career with an established firm in the Orange County Area. As the Associate Attorney - Post Conviction Relief , you will report to the Supervising Attorney. We're looking to add an attorney with previous litigation and/or appellate experience to join our team and handle post-conviction relief. The Associate Attorney will manage their caseload, as well as client interaction, and can collaborate with our wonderful Post Conviction Relief Team of Attorneys and legal assistants.
Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on their legal rights in matters and draw up legal documents about their case.
- Responsible for post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, early termination of probation, etc.
- Experience with immigration law is highly desirable, but not required, as this position would have interactions with both criminal and immigration practices.
- Attend motion hearings on behalf of clients and advise clients following each hearing about best strategies.
- Handle open criminal cases including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing on behalf of other criminal attorneys within the firm.
- Manage court appearances, drafting motions, interviewing clients, and performing legal research.
- Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.
- Manage workload of cases.
- Provide legal analysis for clients to determine any possible case benefits.
Qualifications:
- Criminal Defense Experience or Immigration Law Experience.
- Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local level.
- A team player who is open to helping, strategizing, and working with your fellow associates.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred, but not required.
- Interpersonal skills of the highest caliber.
Pay Range: $80,000-$100,000 annual salary. Pay range may be exceeded based on experience on a case-by-case basis.
