Coordinate all small package shipping (UPS, FedEx, Courier, etc..) Coordinate all freight billing activities, including gathering information and utilizing various computer systems. Perform Shipper (labeling, wrapping skids, moving product, etc..) and other floor work when assigned. Computer proficiency, particularly with excel, and the ability to learn specialized core systems is essential. Performs clerical duties related to the shipment and receipt of materials, supplies, equipment and finished products shipped via internal freight fleet or third party LTL carrier. Maintain necessary databases, files and documentation. Prepares reports for department Leaders as required. May perform activities related to load planning of outbound trucks to meet customer delivery requirements and cost parameters. Typical shipping activities include checking goods against shipping documents and authorizations. Verify identification and quality of product, prepare bills of lading, post weight and shipping charges. Provides support and reports to CS and customers. May be tasked with performing ancillary duties related to Production Expediting (coordinating the movement of materials throughout the plant).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift, pull and push 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 to 20 pounds frequently.
- Must be able to bend, twist and turn frequently.
- Ability to distinguish color variation.
- Required to stand and move about the facility constantly.
WORK HOURS:
10:00 am to 6:30 pm
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Fork Lift experience preferred, and ability to receive a forklift certification is required. In-house forklift certification/training will be provided. Intermediate to Advanced Computer Skills, database and excel required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
General knowledge of shipping operations and national shipping vendor computer systems is preferred.
