Job Description:

The IT Server Manager position is a hands-on technical/management role. The IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for managing IT technologies and a group of technical IT Infrastructure personnel, developing and establishing IT infrastructure standards and procedures, and assigning work to the operations staff. This individual will work closely with the IT Leadership team and business units to ensure alignment with the company objectives. The ideal candidate must have both leadership and technical skills to effectively and efficiently manage IT Infrastructure technologies and personnel.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manages and ensures optimum operations of all Windows, AIX, Oracle & Red Hat Linux server platforms to support client business priorities in its over five hundred branches.
  2. Works with other IT leaders to research and deploy cost-effective infrastructure capabilities that drive business value.
  3. Leads continuous improvement of the company's Server platforms to improve efficiency, security, and uptime.
  4. Establishes service level metrics with domestic and international service providers to drive consistent delivery of quality service.
  5. Designs and implements short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure server capacity meets existing and future requirements.
  6. Assists the client Group of companies to design, manage, and implement industry-leading IT solutions via best practices, tools, and automation.
  7. Works closely with the Indirect Sourcing team on contracts and price negotiations.
  8. Maintains knowledge and expertise in Infrastructure best practices and trends.
  9. Documents plans, requests, activities, and specifications and reports on them.
  10. Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and associated training plans for engineering teams.
  11. Practices server asset management via CMDB, lifecycle management, and related documentation.
  12. Provides ownership of problems through final resolution and ability to identify root causes and put actions in place to prevent recurrence.
  13. Performs cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for infrastructure systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
  14. Manages and ensures effectiveness of servers and their associated operating systems and software. Responsible for on-site and off-site data centers.
  15. Manages operational costs; conducts near- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base.
  16. Oversees the administration of user accounts, permissions, and access rights in access management applications in alignment with best practice, SOX, and PCI regulations.
  17. Develops team skills and reinforces a culture of continuous improvement through innovation and automation.

Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated leadership and personnel management skills.
  2. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English.
  3. BA/BS in Engineering or Computer Science strongly preferred.
  4. Minimum of 10 years working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems – with experience in Windows 2019/2022 & Red Hat version 8 & 9.
  5. Experience with VMware 8.X and SRM is a plus.
  6. Working knowledge of network and load balancer equipment.
  7. Exceptional knowledge of current protocols and standards, including Active Directory, Windows and Red Hat Operating Systems, Group Policies, MS Exchange (O365), Core Switching/Routing, SSL, Web Filtering, SAN, Virtualization, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity.
  8. Strong vendor management skills with experience in an outsourced environment.
  9. Experience working with and leading cross-functional, geographically dispersed project teams and working within a hybrid internal and outsourced environment.
  10. Ability to manage multiple priorities and create effective delivery schedules based on business needs and technical requirements.
  11. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  12. Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful service level agreement accomplishments.
