Consulting Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion The Massachusetts Psychological Association (MPA) seeks a contract employee, part-time (10 hours weekly), Consulting Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) to work collaboratively with MPA leadership to implement and assess the effectiveness of DEI initiatives in order to inspire and create change across the organization. MPA is committed to building a diverse organization where all members feel included, valued, recognized, and empowered, consistent with MPA’s strategic goal to broaden the diversity of membership (e.g., cultural, ethnic, professional specialties, career stage) and MPA’s Diversity Statement. Please note that while this position is remote, candidates should be willing to commute to in-person meetings and events in Massachusetts to establish relationships within the organization. Responsibilities: • Work with the DEI Task Force and MPA leadership to develop and execute a strategy to implement the initiatives outlined in DEI 2021 Task Force report for infusing diversity and inclusion into all aspects of MPA to achieve systemic change and a culture of belonging. • Develop a mechanism to measure the progress and impact of the DEI initiatives in achieving systemic change across MPA. • Serve as a consultant and resource to MPA committees to assist them in incorporating EDI into their work. • The consultant will have a strategic role in stewarding DEI initiatives and trainings for MPA leadership. • Develop DEI resources in collaboration with the DEI Task Force, MPA Leadership, Committees, and members to distribute on MPA’s website to assist members with engaging in self-reflection and self-interrogation work in order to integrate anti-racist frameworks and enhance cultural humility within their professional practice. • Drive the commitment, accountability and transparency around targeted improvements. Develop processes to help committees and board members with accountability in terms of infusing DEI into their work. • Assist the MPA Public Issue Response Committee drafting statements on public issues that are consistent with the mission, strategic goals, values, and legislative initiatives of MPA. • Provide monthly reports to the Board of Directors and attend all Board of Directors meetings. • Other duties as agreed upon with the Executive Director and MPA executive leadership. Qualifications: • Appropriate educational background, along with work and lived experience, which would enable the successful development, execution, and assessment of DEI programs. • Knowledge of mental health services and practices. • Experience working with historically marginalized groups. • Demonstrated knowledge of concepts and processes that drive organizational DEI. • Excellent communication and facilitation skills including the ability to address and manage sensitive topics and difficult conversations. • Demonstrated ability to show DEI program effectiveness through measurable metrics. Compensation: $75 hour for 10 hours weekly
