What We are Looking For:

As the Senior Director - Quality, you will play a critical role in building, growing and leading the TruRoots quality program. We are looking for you to develop and implement quality programs, continuous improvement initiatives, and establish a quality control and quality assurance organization to support our manufacturing systems. You will work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Process Engineering, R&D, Hardware and Software Engineering teams to champion quality across TruRoots.

Experience Required/Job Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Food Science or related field preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in food manufacturing (preferably beverage industry)
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing a quality management system (QMS), and sustaining quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams
  • Certifications or training including GFSI Quality Auditor, PCQI, GMPs, Juice HACCP, Gap Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Continuous Improvement

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and subject matter expertise in the design and implementation of a comprehensive quality management system for the business - from setting corporate procedures/policies and specifications to ensuring compliance from inbound receipt, storage, manufacturing deployment to consumer response.
  • Build a high-performing and highly effective quality organization through effective coaching, staff development, and training efforts.
  • Lead team efforts for collecting, analyzing, and summarizing product quality data and trends. Collaborate with R&D on specification and formula enhancements to better define consumer expectations for quality and consistency.
  • Track and monitor quality complaints/incidents and ensure rapid root cause analysis and corrective action implementation, including customer interface with top accounts.
  • Responsible for Non-Conformance Material Reviews; lead team in developing and coordinating rework of materials to maximize operational efficiencies.
  • Leverage internal capabilities and external network of regulatory and certification bodies to ensure compliance with OU Kosher, Non-GMO, USDA NOP Organic, FDA and State Acidified Foods, Food Fraud Prevention, Pesticide Residue/Heavy Metals compliance, and GFSI BRCGS.
  • Provide sales support with customer data and document requests.
  • Up to 30% travel.

Fine Print:

This role is located in our Chico, CA plant but will require regular travel to the other location.

Compensation for this role includes a base salary in the range of $150,000 and $175,000 as well as a performance bonus in accordance with the company bonus program.
