Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

Eskenazi Health Sr. Enterprise Project Managers drive setup, execution, and closeout of Eskenazi Health projects of all scales but are especially skilled at managing large complex projects across multiple divisions or departments. They serve as the consolidated point of accountability, communication, and coordination for all activity within a given project. Sr. Enterprise Project Managers drive successful projects of varying types and levels of complexity, by engaging and organizing the effort of subject matter experts. Sr. Enterprise Project Managers optimize the type, extent, and formality of controls required to achieve project success efficiently. Sr. Enterprise Project Managers serve as a subject matter expert and coach to other project managers and to the organization. They assist leader in refining project delivery approaches, conducting retrospectives, and general delivery improvement across the team. This Project Management position functions at the system level and may interface with project managers embedded in departments within the health system.


Project Managers collaborate actively with all project stakeholders, resource managers, and task owners to ensure that:
• Project objectives are well-formed, realistic, meet stakeholder expectations, and are adequately socialized
• Projects have defined start and finish dates and defined milestones
• Key project constraints are identified, managed, and updated
• Project budgets and resourcing are sufficient to deliver project objectives within agreed time frames and recognized constraints
• Project plans or work approaches are adequate to achieve agreed results
• Project status information remains entirely transparent and is available in real time
• Project risks are actively managed throughout the course of the project
• Project stakeholders and team members are kept abreast of project progress and issues
• Project results are consistently reviewed for ongoing improvement purposes
 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Establishes, plans, manages, and closes out approved projects approved by leadership
• Organizes project status reporting and communication
• Ensures that Eskenazi Health project management standards are utilized for all projects
• Ensures that project portfolio information is kept up to date with project status, risk, and cost information
• Ensures that project working materials are centralized and readily accessible to the project team and stakeholders
• Ensures that project results are reviewed
• Serve as a subject matter expert and coach to other project managers and to the organization
• Assist leader in refining project delivery approaches, conducting retrospectives, and general delivery improvement across the team
• Works within grant funded project budgets (as appropriate)
 

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent in other experience and/or certification Advanced degree preferred
• 7 or more years’ experience managing complex projects or relevant job experience demonstration project management acumen
• Project management certification required, degree in project management, or business with a concentration in project management may be accepted in lieu of certification
• Proficiency with stakeholder management, service improvement, and requirements engineering/analysis
• Experience using project and portfolio management platforms 
• Experience delivering large projects within healthcare environments, that could be launching new service lines, new clinics, new facilities, or new processes across the health system.
