POSITION: Outside Sales Representative/Building Envelope Specialist

TERRITORY: San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, and Santa Clara counties

PAY: $80,000-$200,000 (salary + commission; potential to earn more due to uncapped commission potential)

We are looking for a Building Envelope Specialist to educate the distribution chain on all features and benefits of DuPont Tyvek Weatherization Systems and additional OrePac envelope materials. This position is also responsible for creating demand with downstream participants (general contractors, dealers, distributors, architects, and key influencers) in the market area. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Understand the residential and commercial market segment, including the roles of owners, general contractors, sub-contractors, consultants, architects, and suppliers.
  • Target top architects, builders, contractors, and suppliers within the market area.
  • Establish short and long-term goals and strategies regarding key clients and prospects. Develop specific action plans to achieve goals.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis to include on-demand forecasting, competitor capabilities, and customer profiles.
  • Develop relationships with the top 50 builders within the market area.
  • Visit 5-10 GC’s/jobsites per week to conduct cold calls, installation demonstrations, warranty inspections, pre-construction meetings, and observations.
  • Be an active member of at least 2 industry organizations (such as HBA, AIA, CSI, BEC) and attend monthly meetings.
  • Take an active training role with our Authorized Dealer Network, including training, following up on project/customer leads, and compiling project submittal documents.
  • Will be responsible for meeting specific sales volumes and profit margin goals as determined by branch and Corporate leadership.
  • Communicate with branch sales management, full-line sales team, and product managers (when applicable) about upcoming jobs and possible customer needs.
  • Communicate regional marketing opportunities with the Building Envelope Regional Manager, including trade shows, publications, and seminars.
  • Participate in regular joint calls with branch full-line representatives.
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled branch sales meetings.
  • Communicate with the sales team to manage and coordinate sales to customers who overlap geographic boundaries and markets, as well as to leverage the OrePac portfolio across company boundaries.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field or 5 or more years of relevant sales or industry experience; or any combination of education training or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Strong business acumen in regard to sales and knowledge in regard to current and possible future industry trends.
  • Ability to travel (approximately 75%+) throughout the sales regions.
  • Aptitude to develop knowledge of the industry within a given market. Knowledge base in building materials is preferred; specific knowledge of the building envelope is desired.
  • Drive and self-discipline to work independently within territory to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to speak and present effectively before groups of customers and OrePac employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers – both internal and external.
  • A pro-active, self-motivated, self-starter, action-oriented personality that drives for results.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative, team-based approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people both within the Company and in a sales capacity.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry, including calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
