To learn more about ARC, visit About the Position ARC is actively seeking a Director of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development to lead and expand our funding efforts through the development of strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotech companies. This pivotal role is responsible for identifying and cultivating key industry relationships, securing sponsorships, and obtaining grant funding essential for advancing care and research for amyloidosis patients. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development will contribute significantly to ARC’s annual and strategic plans and support the growth of our patient support and research programs. The Director will be instrumental in building and strengthening these industry connections, fostering a collaborative culture that identifies opportunities to drive progress and innovation in the field. This role is also central to the ASPIRE Industry Collaborative—a collective of leading life sciences companies convened by ARC in a pre - competitive space. ASPIRE’s mission is to leverage these partnerships to accelerate advancements in amyloidosis diagnosis, treatment, and health equity. The ideal candidate will have expertise in partnership management, strategic planning, and fundraising, combined with a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. Responsibilities Business Partnership and Relationship Management:
- Cultivate collaborative relationships with life science companies involved in amyloidosis research as the primary ARC contact.
- Develop and implement strategies to expand engagement, strengthen partnerships, and identify growth opportunities in amyloidosis research and therapeutic development; champion strategic initiatives aligned with ARC's mission and partners' objectives, prioritizing patient needs and promoting awareness across teams.
- Contribute to program development, set goals and objectives for partnership initiatives, and be responsible for raising funds to support these initiatives in alignment with ARC's mission and organizational priorities.
- Accountable for achieving all revenue targets and associated operational metrics.
- Monitor partnership metrics, fundraising outcomes, and financial performance, providing regular reports to support informed decision-making.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and management of life science company funded grant and sponsorship proposals, applications, and reporting, ensuring all requirements are met.
ASPIRE Program Leadership:
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for the ASPIRE Industry Collaborative program.
- Lead Executive Steering Committee comprised of ASPIRE committee members and key stakeholders, with goal of identifying and prioritizing ASPIRE’s strategic near and long- term goals and ensuring alignment with ARC's overarching objectives for ASPIRE.
- Oversee ASPIRE programs and initiatives implemented in partnership with ASPIRE working group members and vendors, including issue resolution, strategic decision- making, and optimizing resource allocation to ensure successful outcomes.
- Provide strategic guidance on achievable, tactical deliverables such as publication plans, focus groups, and knowledge-sharing activities to enhance ASPIRE’s impact and outreach.
- Management and oversight of the ASPIRE Senior Program Manager’s role, including project planning, budgeting, and execution to maintain momentum and ensure successful completion.
- Foster visibility of ASPIRE's plans and activities, promoting transparency and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years, or a Master's degree with 7+ years of proven experience in partnership management, strategic planning, and fundraising within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
- Strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated capacity to foster collaboration, drive innovation, and achieve results.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with proven negotiation abilities to effectively influence stakeholders and mobilize teams toward shared objectives.
- In-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical and biotech landscape, including the regulatory environment and rare disease research, is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in managing and mentoring direct reports, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Ability to professionally represent the organization in written and verbal formats.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
- Passion for non-profits, health equity, patient engagement, and cross-sector collaboration.
- Ability to be flexible, compassionate, and creative, while maintaining a sense of humor.
- Experience utilizing MS Office, Salesforce, project management tools such as Wrike, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Project, and document management systems such as Box.
- Seize a fully remote experience with this dynamic full-time, exempt position requiring 40 hours per week.
