**Job Title:** Clinical Nurse
**Job Specialty:** Medical-Surgical Nursing
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (3x12 plus a 4th shift required per month, every other weekend required)
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in medical-surgical nursing
**License:** Registered Nurse License
**Certifications:** BLS
**Must-Have:** Proficiency with EPIC is highly preferred, excellent organizational skills, and experience in surgical & medical specialties
**Job Description:**
- Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care through the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills in patient care management.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
- Educate patients and caregivers about their care plan, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
- Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, discharge planning, and appropriate delegation.
- Role models key actions, such as Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding to enhance patient experience.
- Implement quality and safety practices to create a safe environment, contributing to compliance measures.
- Engage in process improvement strategies and participate in quality improvement projects and nursing research.
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned and coordinate with the nursing management team to ensure resource sufficiency.
- Document thoroughly and accurately in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
- Facilitate patient throughput during shifts to enhance care delivery.
- Support the professional development of clinical colleagues.
- Participate in shared decision-making through specialty practice councils, committees, and unit initiatives.
- Encourage scholarship, inquiry, and continuous learning and advancement in nursing practice.
