Join our team as we support a government contract for the Naval Air Systems Command! Are you a highly motivated Senior Software/Systems Engineer ? Are you looking to engage in supporting innovations to system engineering practices across the NAVAIR community?
As a Software/Systems Engineer (Senior) you will:

A week in the life of a Software/System Engineer (Senior):
- Perform Software Systems Engineering for the development and sustainment phases of a project relative to mission planning software supporting aircraft and weapons systems.
- Evaluate the impact of new capabilities and/or updated hardware and software on meeting the requirements and the mission performance on support software systems.
- Review, develop, and comment on H-60 software requirements during the development and sustainment phases of a project.
- Develop trade-off studies, engineering approach analyses, and system implementation analyses, and perform research to provide recommendations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform systems engineering duties in architecting, designing, integrating, and testing aircraft and weapons systems. May conduct basic and applied research to evaluate the adaptability of computer software and hardware to aircraft design and manufacture.
- Senior level person may oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job. May also ensure project procedures and controls are followed, manage manning and staffing project efforts, and lead problem resolution efforts.
Education:
- BS or BA degree in a Technical Discipline (Degree REQUIRED; neither an associate’s degree nor additional years of experience can be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.)
Experience:
- At least ten (10) years of experience in Systems Engineering supporting DoD aircraft systems, DoD weapons systems, DoD mission systems or DoD support systems, consisting of the design, development, integration, and system testing of computer hardware, computer software, and navigation, sensor, and communication subsystems.
- Knowledge of system engineering principles, theories, and concepts and ability to contribute to the development of new and innovative principles and concepts.
