Position Overview
At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated CNC Operator to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Responsibilities
Follow planning sequence of machining operations to fabricate hardware to engineering drawing requirements holding closer tolerance on complex configuration as required.
Utilize all shop equipment as applicable.
Use of various measuring techniques used to validate machined hardware.
Effective interfacing with R&D, Engineering and Quality Assurance to ensure compliance to customer specifications.
Understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Program machine, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part program. Make proper installations and adjustments.
Perform preventive maintenance requirements – follows manufacturer's instructions; troubleshoots malfunctions.
Compliance with good housekeeping, quality, FOD, and safety procedures.
This is a 2nd and/or 3rd shift position.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Position requires a person who is capable working with minimum supervision fabricating flight and non-flight hardware from various metals or composite materials.
Qualified candidate should be able to multi-task, take initiative and communicate clearly.
Candidate must be proficient in the use of verbal and written technical communication, and able to work from written or verbal instructions.
Basic computer skills (PC) with proficiency in MS Office software.
Preferred Requirements
Associate degree in a technical or military discipline preferably related to aircraft manufacturing or maintenance.
Industry experience applicable to the position will be considered in lieu of associate degree.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experienced in FAA manufacture and associated paperwork.
Physical Requirements
This is a 2nd and/or 3rd shift position.
Able to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours and weekends.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE.
Ability to transport objects up to 35 pounds as well as consistently stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb and kneel.
Work onsite in Columbus, MS.
Salary Range (Annualized USD)
Minimum Range: $36,000.00 to $64,000.00
Maximum Range: $44,000.00 to $78,000.00
