Candle Media is hiring a Senior Corporate Accountant to support the Candle team.  In this role, you will be responsible for performing and overseeing aspects of intercompany and consolidation accounting, including reconciliations, eliminations, journal entries, reporting, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of intercompany accounting principles and practices. They should also be highly organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

What You Will Do:

Own month-end close fluctuation analytics, reconciliations, consolidations and posting entries for different entities to ensure accurate recording and elimination of transactions between affiliated companies

Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or variances in intercompany accounts promptly, collaborating with cross-functional teams when necessary

Prepare and post journal entries, adjustments, and other related accounting entries in Netsuite

Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes

Maintain and strengthen internal controls over consolidation, minimizing the risk of errors and fraud

Develop audit SOPs

Light M&A activities including opening/consolidating financial statements

Prepare data for quarterly and annual regulatory filings

Review/perform complex reconciliations and analyzes variances

Ad hoc projects such as accounting policy standardization and implementation

Requirements

2+ years of relevant accounting experience, Big 4 experience preferred

Understanding of intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation, and topside adjusting journal

entries 

Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively 

Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of GAAP

CPA or progress towards obtaining a license is preferred

Advanced Excel skills

Analytical mindset & ability to work with large sets of data along with strong attention to detail

Ability to work under pressure, often in a deadline-driven environment, and ability to perform several tasks

concurrently

Must possess excellent critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and superior attention to detail

Ability to work independently

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing

Prior experience with Netsuite or other ERP systems is a plus

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is between $90,000 - $120,000
