About the Job
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join our Merchandising team. This individual will have responsibility for developing product and customer merchandising strategies that drive product category growth for your assigned brand and product categories. In addition to developing merchandising strategies, this individual is also responsible for delivering or exceeding budgeted volume and profit goals by incorporating competitive intelligence, customer knowledge, fashion expertise and business acumen.
What You'll Do | Key Accountabilities
• Creates and owns holistic product strategy that meets/exceeds company financial targets
• Identifies merchandise trends and opportunities, and translates appropriately into realistic merchandise strategies
• Ensures overall product assortment meets financial plan targets and addresses consumer needs
• Develops assortment buy plans and partners with planning team to ensure purchases align with sales targets and omni-channel inventory needs
• Provides direction and input to design and product development partners, to ensure that overall assortment needs, and specific product attribute requirements are met and supported
• Provides direction and input to merchandise financial plans created by planning team
• Provides clear direction and communication on product strategies to cross-functional partners
• Develops complete program strategy including pricing, promotional price cadence, markdown plans and timing
• Manages business to meet company targets on gross margin, sales, sell through, markdowns, inventory levels, and turn
• Directs merchandise projections and flow schedules to ensure timely and constant flow of merchandise
• Monitors in-season performance against plan and directs action for improvement as necessary
• Utilizes end of season analysis and data to optimize seasonal assortments, merchandise flow and promotional plans going forward
• Partners with Marketing and Store Operations teams to ensure efficient communication related to new product launches, product stories, and promotional and store events
• Develops and manages assistant merchant
• Interacts at all levels with cross-functional team partners to execute business objectives
• Leads with discretion and autonomy to resolve all issues or obstacles within the scope of work
What You'll Bring | Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree required
• 10+ years' experience as a successful Retail Merchandise Buyer with a national chain
• Experience in buying Men's Apparel preferred
• Sound analytical, financial, strategic and problem-solving skills
• Superior communication and organization skills
• High level of initiative and ability to execute independently with minimal direction
• Ability to create and maintain a collaborative and dynamic team environment with diverse groups of people
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)

• Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time

• Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, in a hybrid work environment from our Dublin California office

The starting salary for this position is $133,400 - $170,000 and may increase to $190,000 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual's skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Other compensation may include a 20% Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) bonus paid out according to policy. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
