Position Overview:

The Finance Associate provides entry level accounting and administrative support related to the daily operations of the Finance team and other teams as available.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Process Accounts Payable, including verification of invoices for payment, entry of invoices, and posting and issuing checks.
  2. Vendor set-up and maintenance, working with vendors as needed (includes requesting tax identification numbers).
  3. Processing annual 1099s for vendors used.
  4. Assist in implementing new Accounts Payable process and workflow technology and other process improvement initiatives.
  5. Administer corporate credit card program including processing of credit card expense reports.
  6. Enter journal entry transactions when needed.

Essential

  1. Securely set-up and maintain vendor and grantee ACH information for electronic Accounts Payable and Grant payments.
  2. Generate and distribute budget reports to heads of departments on a monthly basis.
  3. Participate in cross departmental work teams as relates to core duties.
  4. Complete audit schedules as requested in a timely manner.
  5. Create and distribute reports utilizing Excel and iPhi database.

Perform other duties, special projects as assigned.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Associate degree with at least two years of related experience, or a four-year degree in a relevant field and some relevant experience.
  • Experience with computer-based accounting, word processing systems, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Experience working with accounting software.
  • Experience in a Foundation or nonprofit setting.
  • Experience processing Accounts Payable.
  • Experience with SAP Concur expense reporting software.
  • Experience with Salesforce and/or Stellar iPhi.
  • Advanced template and spreadsheet experience.
  • Experience with relational databases and/or business intelligence software.

Supervision Responsibilities: None

Working Conditions:

Most of the work in this position is performed in a general office setting and the successful candidate must be able to work at a PC for extended periods of time. We are a hybrid organization typically working 2 days a week in the office.
