Reporting to the US Chief Commercial Officer, the Sr Director, National Accounts – McDonald’s will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing high-impact business strategies that drive mutual growth and success with the Krispy Kreme & McDonald’s partnership. This highly visible leadership position demands a forward-thinking, data-driven approach to manage complex customer relationships, optimize financial outcomes, and foster market collaboration both internally & externally. This role will leverage our Brand strength and power of the partnership to deliver innovative solutions, guide cross-functional teams to exceed expectations and achieve our ambitious partnership goals. Strategic thought leadership, superior account management, and strong commercial acumen combined with a bias for action will be key “recipe for success” ingredients in this role.

A TASTE OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Lead business strategy and planning for the partnership. Interface at all levels within the Krispy Kreme organization (C-Suite, Operations, Marketing, Finance, IBP, Sustainability, etc.) and builds and fosters relationships with McDonald’s MHQ, Field and Franchisee decision makers; “Self-Managed Excellence” supporting the “Three-legged Stool”.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans aligning with customer plans, proactively adjusting plans and resources to maximize results recognizing the implications of changes.
  • Reconciles company’s and customer’s financial objectives in creating and revising business plans and budgets.
  • Aligns resources and successfully influences direct team and cross functional business partners at higher levels within Krispy Kreme and externally across the McDonald’s system.
  • Collect, analyze, and leverage data and insights to activate customer solutions, ensuring alignment with broader organizational strategies.
  • Acts as our internal McDonald’s Brand Ambassador, effectively building relationships and communicating McDonald’s messaging while advocating for a “System First” sense of urgency and deep customer understanding within the organization.
  • Has clear understanding of and works to continuously improve key Supplier Performance Indicators (SPI).
  • Develops and cultivates current and future talent and skillsets that exceed McDonald’s expectations.
  • Analyzes financial, sales and market statistics, along with consumer insights, drawing valid conclusions from disparate data in order to unearth possible opportunities; cascades these ideas to local market teams for execution.
  • Works closely with colleagues in traditional DFD and Retail to ensure overall customer segment & channel cohesion.

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS:

  • 12+ Years in QSR Sales related experience or a related combination of education + experience including people & team management.
  • McDonald’s experience/system knowledge either internally or as a supplier is a must.
  • Knowledge of QSR industry dynamics, including price/cost/operations/labor trends, ways of working, product, and offering evolution.
  • Strategic Thought Leadership – passion for the business and industry; strategically minded, dynamic and creative thinker with the ability to plan proactively, set priorities, problem solve and drive results through a strong bias for action. Experience in managing sustainable business and making the right decisions for long term growth. Identifies risk & mitigates it through comprehensive contingency plans while looking for opportunities to overdeliver.
  • Superior Account Leadership – builds strong relationships through customer empathy & owns the outcome of business results; ability to take charge with proven success leading teams in a complex environment; expects excellence and develops talent; courageous (takes smart risks); perseveres in times of adversity; credible reputation, known for integrity and character. Effective communicator with strong active listening, written and verbal skills.
  • Commercial Acumen – track record of successful performance; results driven; strong sense of urgency; adapts rapidly to multiple business and community cultures; proven ability to work with matrixed support organizations. Ability to influence through fact-based recommendations; creates and delivers strong presentations across functions and levels, internally and externally. Experience running a large P&L (customer/brand); Lead and operate with a revenue generation mindset.
  • Recognized leadership capability with strong project management, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills with the ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships.
  • Understands the key drivers of the U.S. Fresh business and the levers that impact business success (revenues, volumes, and margin).
