Job Requirements / Description

The General Accountant is responsible for managing the overall accounting processes of the company, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with local regulations. This role involves managing general accounting functions, including maintaining the general ledger, handling accounts payable and receivable, payroll management, tax compliance, and financial reporting. The General Accountant will collaborate with various departments, including project teams and administrative units, to ensure the financial integrity of the company’s operations.

Key Responsibilities

General Ledger Maintenance:

  • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll accounts.
  • Post journal entries and ensure proper coding of all transactions.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information to management for decision-making purposes.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts, budgets, and cash flow analysis.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payment of accounts payable, while ensuring accuracy in billing and payment terms.
  • Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of payments from clients and proper posting of receipts.
  • Perform aging analysis of receivables and monitor overdue accounts.

Payroll Processing:

  • Administer payroll for all company employees, ensuring correct calculation of salaries, taxes, and benefits.
  • Ensure timely remittance of payroll taxes and government contributions such as SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG (for Philippine-based companies).

Tax Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT, income tax, withholding tax, and other relevant statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and file tax returns and ensure timely remittance of all taxes.
  • Work closely with external auditors to ensure compliance and assist in annual audits.

Budgeting & Cost Management:

  • Assist in preparing the company’s overall budget, working closely with department heads to forecast revenues and expenses.
  • Monitor and control costs, ensuring that expenditures are within approved budgets.
  • Provide variance analysis between actual and budgeted results, and recommend corrective actions if necessary.

Cash Flow Management:

  • Monitor cash flow to ensure the company has sufficient liquidity to meet financial obligations.
  • Maintain an accurate cash flow forecast and assist in managing working capital.

Internal Controls:

  • Implement and maintain financial controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure that accounting policies and procedures are followed, and recommend improvements for better efficiency and compliance.

Collaboration & Support:

  • Collaborate with project managers and procurement teams to ensure accurate project costing and financial reporting.
  • Provide financial support to various departments, helping them manage their budgets and financial responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (GAAP, IFRS).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Odoo) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and cost management.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Pay: Php25,000.00 per month
