We are hiring a Director of Sales & Marketing for our authentic and upscale hotel! The Downright Austin, a Renaissance Hotel, is located near the University of Austin campus. It offers 367 rooms and suites that are bold and inviting. This property has over 17,000 square feet of event space and is close to 6th Street nightlife.

We are seeking an experienced sales leader who has a proven track record of effectively leading teams and developing solid relationships with customers and hotel owners.

The DOS will provide complete and appropriate solutions for every customer in order to boost top-line revenue growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide the highest quality of service to our customers at all times.
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive business in new and existing markets.
  • Establish and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
  • Understand and keep up to date with industry and competitive landscape knowledge.
  • Guide sales and marketing efforts as well as advertising tasks, public relations, and administrative reporting.
  • Define and implement sales and marketing activities according to the Marketing Plan.
  • Prioritize, document, and organize work to meet deadlines.
  • Lead and develop a high-quality sales team.

Qualifications:

  • Prior Director of Sales Experience (5+ years) in a full-service hotel property.
  • Prior Marriott experience desirable.
  • Experience as a Director of Sales in the Austin, Texas markets preferable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial and competitive data to make informed decisions.
  • Prior experience leading, motivating, and managing successful sales teams.

Pay Range: $112,872 - $141,090
