Job Description

Our client is looking for a driven immunologist to lead drug discovery projects at their Boston site. You’ll guide these projects from inception through early clinical development, managing a multidisciplinary team to achieve our goals. Responsibilities

– Lead the creation and execution of research plans for drug discovery, including resource allocation, risk management, and contingency planning. – Manage a multidisciplinary team to ensure timely achievement of project goals. – Ensure alignment across functions and secure organizational support for operational plans. – Challenge assumptions, test timelines, and develop alternative strategies for agility. – Identify and resolve bottlenecks, drive issue resolution, and lead contingency efforts. – Facilitate decision-making to maximize value and efficiency. – Foster innovative thinking and creative problem-solving. – Apply advanced immunological techniques to explore disease mechanisms and therapies. – Work with clinical teams to develop and implement translational research strategies. – Maintain proactive communication with senior management. – Represent the program to potential partners and at scientific events.

Required Skills

– PhD in immunology or a related field – Over 10 years of experience in biotech or pharma, including 7+ years leading cross-functional teams – Strong scientific track record with publications and leadership of programs in clinical development for immunology – Extensive knowledge of drug discovery and development – Experience leading projects from hit-finding to candidate selection and contributing to target validation – Proven ability to solve complex scientific challenges and drive innovation – Critical data analysis skills to guide informed decision-making – Ability to objectively assess competitive and business-related information – Excellent time management and communication skills – Ability to challenge ideas constructively and mentor team members effectively
