The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Senior Systems Analyst in the Information Technology Department! In this role, you will perform systems analysis and design for large complex systems, prepare or direct the preparation of complex programs and systems, and analyze and coordinate databases on a city-wide basis. You may also direct and review the work of employees assigned to assist on major projects. The current vacant position will lead an infrastructure team to coordinate, maintain, upgrade and provide overall support for computer systems, telephony (VoIP) and networks to ensure proper security and operation, plan, coordinate and implement system software changes for enterprise servers, resolve technology problems and provide for system enhancements including end-user computing devices, mobile devices, virtual desktops and servers, storage and networking devices, local and wide area networks (LANs/WANs), telephony (currently Avaya VoIP) and cloud based information systems (SaaS, PaaS, etc).
A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:
Completion of four (4) years of college resulting in graduation or its equivalent and three (3) years of experience in systems analysis and programming of business applications, including one (1) year in the analysis or design of large-scale computer systems and databases.
