Woon is a homestyle Chinese restaurant currently located in Historic Filipinotown for 5+ years and opening a new location this year in the North Pasadena / Altadena area.

Woon is currently seeking a General Manager to help open and manage their forthcoming location. The General Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the restaurant. They will work closely with the back of house and front of house teams and report directly to the Director of Operations.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Upholds the highest standards of hospitality and service
  • Ensures a safe and secure working, and dining environment for all team members and guests
  • Supports staff with service whenever and however necessary
  • Front of House Operations and Management
  • Manage Square POS, Square Online & Delivery Platforms
  • Refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and checklists
  • Inventory management + ordering
  • Work Director of Operations for all beer, wine, sake and n/a bev purchasing, and receiving
  • Maintains patron satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food, beverage, and service offerings; initiating improvements; building relationships with preferred patrons; handling customer enquiries and complaints
  • Control purchases and inventory; negotiating prices and contracts; developing preferred supplier lists; reviewing and evaluating usage reports; analyzing variances; and taking corrective actions.
  • Setting up compliance with licensing, hygiene and health and safety legislation/guidelines
  • Keeping statistical and financial records
  • Scheduling & Time Off Requests
  • Bi-weekly payroll and time / tip sheet reconciliations
  • Report and resolve any Human Resources related issues
  • Staffing and Onboarding
  • Conducting interviews
  • Onboarding requirements
  • Termination requirements
  • Track labor and monitor spend
  • Weekly invoicing and receipts
  • Weekly cash deposits and change
  • Working with management on event planning
  • Receiving deliveries
  • Regular meetings with management team
  • Repair or installation appointments

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of restaurant management experience
  • Communications and interpersonal skills are a must
  • Strong leadership skills are a must
  • Must be very organized
  • Ability to adapt and manage unexpected problems
  • Experience with Square and Uber Eats is a plus
  • Google drive, docs and sheets skills are a plus
