Job Summary: As a Commercial Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for evaluating and estimating the costs involved in commercial construction projects. Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Analysis:

  • Cost Estimation:
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and other project-related expenses.
  • Utilize construction estimating software and databases to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Bid Preparation:
  • Work closely with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive bids for various aspects of the project.
  • Compile and organize all cost data into comprehensive bid proposals for submission.
  • Collaboration:
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other team members to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and post-bid discussions to address questions and concerns.
  • Cost Management:
  • Monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle to reflect any changes or variations.
  • Provide support in value engineering to optimize costs without compromising quality.
  • Market Research:
  • Stay informed about current market trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure competitiveness in bidding.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of all estimates, bids, and related documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for project stakeholders.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a construction estimator, preferably in commercial construction.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Construction Estimator - CCE).
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other advanced technologies in construction estimation.
  • Project management skills.
