Senior Associate, Variable Annuity Product Management

Role Overview:
New York Life is looking for a highly qualified individual for its Variable Annuity Product Management and Development Team. The candidate will be a major component in driving the management of the Variable Annuity product line with a focus on developing a product suite that meets consumer needs, is consistent with external markets, suitable for our distribution channels and adds value to the company. This role will also contribute to the oversight of the variable annuity fund platform.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with cross-functional resources to drive product development through business specifications, business planning, development, and implementation
- Serve as a subject matter expert for all questions and projects related to the Variable Annuity product line
- Lead cross-functional teams with diverse skill sets, including representatives from marketing, project management, IT, legal, compliance and sales in executing product initiatives
- Research and analyze industry trends, competitors, and product characteristics to support product development activity while alerting the appropriate stakeholders, as needed
- Monitor fund platform integrity by providing oversight of portfolio performance and risk exposures
- Streamline and enhance investment reporting including senior management updates, deliver high quality investment reports on a multitude of portfolio characteristics as well as ad hoc internal and external investments inquiries
- Analyze large investment data sets and reconcile various data sources
- Formulate and articulate your own investment opinions in a collegial and intellectually rigorous environment
- Work closely with other relevant business areas and external investment management partners
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience; CFA (or progress towards) is a plus
- 4+ years’ experience in quantitative and analytical roles, preferably in a financial, consulting or investment environment
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity to problem solve and analyze data and trends. Willingness to step outside of comfort zone to help the team address and adapt to evolving project needs
- Proven ability to succeed in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment
- Has a flexible and creative approach; enjoys working across the organization in a team-oriented environment. Ability to function well in a deadline driven environment
- Knowledge of variable annuities is preferred; knowledge of annuity business economics is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is expected. Knowledge in Morningstar Direct is a plus
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
