Fearless is looking for an Sr. DevSecOps Architect (classified as Engineering Technical Lead ) to add to our diverse team of 250+ employees (and counting!).


What You’ll Be Doing

The Engineering Technical Leader is expected to:

  1. Possess and demonstrate deep experience with Azure and AWS. Akamai experience valuable.
  2. Responsible for overseeing the cloud computing strategy.
  3. Develop cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring.
  4. Oversee application architecture and deployment in cloud environments -- including public cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud.
  5. Assist and oversee the refactoring of existing application code in native languages and environments.
  6. Develop and supports DevSecOps deployment strategies.
  7. Acts as a consultant to the customer’s organization and stays up-to-date on the latest Cloud trends and issues.

Must-Have Skills

  1. 8+ years of experience and bachelor's degree in related field.
  2. Expertise with *DevSecOps* Platform as a Service (PaaS; i.e., OpenShift, Cloud Foundry), AWS (GovCloud, Commercial, Cloudwatch), Kubernetes, Terraform, ELK Stack, Github.
  3. Understanding of Multi-account architecture, Service continuity, Incident response, Continuous monitoring, and Network segregation related to Process Development and Compliance.
  4. Concourse experience = nice to have
  5. Understanding of application architecture, system architecture, and enterprise integration patterns.
  6. Experience leading teams of Software Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, Test Engineers and Data Engineers.
  7. Experience with the entire development process from conception to production operations.
  8. Demonstrated effectiveness in creating harmony among all elements of software creation.
  9. Ability to discuss abstract software development concepts like single-responsibility, cohesion, data immutability, and other paradigm appropriate design patterns.
  10. Deep understanding of DevOps principles and experience integrating them into team processes.
  11. Ability to inspire Engineers and build cohesion on a team.
  12. Ability to understand and respond to customer needs and collaborate as part of a cross-functional team.
  13. Proficient in at least one programming language like Node.js, Python, Go, Java 8+, Ruby, Bash.
  14. Proficient with building applications in containerized development environments.
  15. Ability to operate and manage work, strategically reason, and build relationships and influence others.

Icing-on-the-Cake Skills

  1. BS/MS/MEng in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar technology-related degree.
  2. Experience with design-thinking and human centered design.
  3. Understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns.
  4. Experience working with government or large industry clients.
  5. Holds a current AWS Certified Developer Associate, Solutions Architecture Associate, or Solutions Architect Professional or similar certification in another cloud platform.
  6. Holds a current CISSP, Security+, or other information security certification.
  7. Holds a current Certified Scrum Master certification.

  1. Mentors Engineers in building software development, infrastructure, data, and testing skills.
  2. Reviews other Engineers’ work and code for effectiveness and alignment to team technical standards.
  3. Grows the technical understanding of the stakeholders in and around the team.
  4. Grows community, eminence, and/or strategy of practice area.
  5. Sets the team's technical direction.
  6. Takes initiative for their own growth through personal leadership.

Functional Role

  1. Sets the direction for development, operations, testing, security, and maintenance of software solutions.
  2. Defines implementation strategy that creates robust, scalable, well-designed software built for long-term maintainability.
  3. Designs technology solutions from a deep understanding and analysis of the business needs.
  4. Leads the team in making decisions about technology and infrastructure.
  5. Navigates regulatory landscape and creates solutions and plans that address key risks and controls.
  6. Collaborates with Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to plan and build new features efficiently that align with the product vision.
  7. Aligns team members, customers, and external stakeholders on technical information, plans, and roadmaps.
  8. Builds strategic relationships with peers, leaders, customers, users, and stakeholders.
  9. Orchestrates all phases of the development lifecycle from task creation to production deployment of new code.
  10. Defines and inspires adherence to code and process standards.
  11. Supports the Agile process and helps customers understand Agile.

Our salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location and provide team members salary growth within a salary grade over time. Team members automatically progress within a salary range through annual increases (given to reward service at Fearless) or merit increases (given to reward and individual's demonstrated performance and growth within the position). Fearless team members are also eligible for discretionary bonuses based on company performance.

Salary Ranges

  1. AL, FL, GA, TN Residents: $112,915 (min) - $146,789 (mid) - $180,664 (max)
  2. NC Residents: $116,407 (min) - $151,329 (mid) - $186,251 (max)
  3. DE, MD, PA, TX, VA Residents: $122,227 (min) - $158,896 (mid) - $195,564 (max)
  4. DC Residents: $137,360 (min) - $178,568 (mid) - $219,776 (max)
  5. CA & NY Residents: $142,016 (min) - $184,621 (mid) - $227,226 (max)

Within the range, starting pay for team members is based on the evaluation of the alignment with the position description requirements including job-related skills and experience or training. This range reflects your earning potential over the course of your career at Fearless in this position.
