THE ROLE
The Harpeth Hotel in historic downtown Franklin is looking for Cooks to join our team in providing quality meals for our guests! Our cooks will create innovative plates for both of our on-site full service restaurants. Shifts are available for both morning and evening, 7 days a week. We offer medical, dental, vision benefits and more for full-time team members.
POSITION PROFILE:

• Responsible for the daily preparation of food items
• Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards under the chefs guidance
• Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment following all food service guidelines
• Follow recipe cards, and preparing food to guests specifications
• Working with a sense of urgency and punctuality
• Multitasking to prepare multiple orders and produce high quality scratch made food
• Stocking your station and preparing a prep list for the following day
• Communicating with coworkers to ensure the highest food quality
• Cleaning and closing kitchen stations and equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school education or equivalent experience. Culinary certificate or degree preferred.
Preferred Experience: Six months - 1 year in a food/beverage services environment or establishment.
Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of operating industrial sized ovens and cooking ranges. Possess knowledge of preparing different types of cuisines, relishes, soups, and salads. Have a basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills. Experience working grill and sauté stations preferred. Must have an understanding and be knowledgeable of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures. Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items in hand, and carry containers loaded with food and liquids. Able to read, speak and understand English. Able to lift, push, carry over 50lbs. Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time. Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
