The Director of Marketing and Attorney Recruiting is responsible for overseeing the marketing and business development efforts of the firm, as well as managing the full recruitment process for attorneys, including lateral hires and associates. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker who can integrate marketing and recruiting initiatives to enhance the firm’s visibility, attract top legal talent, and contribute to overall business growth. The Director will work closely with the firm’s leadership, partners, and administrative teams to develop and execute innovative marketing strategies and recruitment plans.

The Director of Marketing and Attorney Recruiting is responsible for overseeing the marketing and business development efforts of the firm, as well as managing the full recruitment process for attorneys, including lateral hires and associates. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker who can integrate marketing and recruiting initiatives to enhance the firm’s visibility, attract top legal talent, and contribute to overall business growth. The Director will work closely with the firm’s leadership, partners, and administrative teams to develop and execute innovative marketing strategies and recruitment plans.
Supervisory Role:
- Manages the daily workflow of the department.
- Develops and implements comprehensive marketing and business development strategies to increase the firm’s visibility and client base.
- Conducts market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and business opportunities for the firm.
- Oversees brand management, ensuring consistency across all communications and media.
- Manages the firm’s website, social media presence, and online reputation.
- Directs the development of marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, attorney bios, and client alerts.
- Executes digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, SEM, and email marketing initiatives.
- Plans and organizes client events, seminars, webinars, and other networking activities.
- Manages public relations efforts, including press releases, media relations, and award submissions.
- Assists attorneys with the preparation of speaking engagements, articles, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Develops and manages the marketing and recruiting budget.
- Attorney Recruiting Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the firm’s recruiting committees to identify hiring needs and recruit attorneys who align with the firm’s strategic goals.
- Builds and maintains relationships with law schools, recruitment agencies, and professional organizations to maintain a pipeline of potential candidates.
- Plans and manages on-campus interviews (OCI), recruitment events, and career fairs.
- Assists the recruiting committees with the firm’s summer associate program, including the development of training sessions, mentorship, and evaluation processes.
- Collaborates with firm leadership, committees, and HR to align recruiting and marketing strategies with the firm’s growth objectives.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field required.
- At least five years of experience in marketing and planning required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in marketing, business development, and/or attorney recruiting, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong understanding of the legal industry, attorney recruitment processes, and marketing best practices. Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
