Job Description/Responsibilities
Bio : The Transfer Pricing Manager plays a crucial role in managing and implementing the transfer pricing strategy within the organization. This position involves overseeing the operational aspects of transfer pricing to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and optimizing the company's tax position. The Transfer Pricing Manager works closely with cross-functional teams, tax professionals, and leadership to develop and maintain effective transfer pricing policies and procedures. Long term, this role will be critical to the overall transfer pricing strategy and will support in strategic transfer pricing initiatives.
- Conduct PDS reviews with direct reports to improve skills and performance utilizing PDS as tool to conduct optimal performance discussions, articulate consistent skill evaluations, recommend actions and tactics, and measure progress. Support the widespread use of PDS within the finance organization. Promote and support Company culture within the finance organization.
- Collaborate with the tax, finance, and legal teams to develop and update transfer pricing policies in accordance with global tax regulations and organizational objectives. Design and implement transfer pricing methodologies that align with business operations and industry standards.
- Ensure that financial systems, reports, and analyses deliver informative and actionable insights necessary to support tax planning initiatives. Contribute to the development of global tax operational capabilities for a multinational organization. Monitor legislative changes in U.S. and international tax laws that may affect the Company's transfer pricing strategies. Oversee and/or complete special projects as needed.
- Ensure that the legal entity structure aligns with the business needs and minimizes tax inefficiencies associated with transfer pricing. Collaborate with the IT and Accounting teams to facilitate process improvement initiatives. Recognize opportunities for enhancements and automation to increase efficiency in the management of transfer pricing activities.
- Ownership of the complete transfer pricing setting and adjustment life cycle, encompassing the identification of potential adjustments, analysis of their impact on financial statements, and coordination of necessary adjustments with relevant stakeholders. Develop and implement an Operational Transfer Pricing (OTP) system to enhance the identification, analysis, and resolution of transfer pricing adjustments, ensuring efficiency and accuracy throughout the process. Identify potential operational transfer pricing risks and formulate strategies to mitigate them. Create and implement transfer prices for new intercompany transactions as required.
- Collaborate with customs and trade compliance teams to ensure transfer pricing policies are consistent with customs valuation requirements. Provide guidance on determining arm's length prices for intercompany transactions to support customs valuations and compliance with international trade regulations. Assist in managing customs valuation risks associated with transfer pricing. Work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to gather pertinent data and documentation required for customs valuation. Aid in customs-related inquiries/audits by ensuring transfer pricing documentation is available and supports the valuation methods employed.
- Participate in quarterly corporate income tax provision processes and collaborate with international tax, tax accounting, treasury, and accounting teams to convey transfer pricing results. Conduct financial and economic analyses to support transfer pricing decisions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Prepare reports and presentations for management and external auditors regarding transfer pricing matters.
- Prepare and maintain thorough transfer pricing documentation to support compliance with local and international regulations. Remain up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations related to transfer pricing and ensure that the company's policies and procedures are updated accordingly. Prepare documentation that supports customs valuation compliance and demonstrates the arm’s length nature of transactions. Conduct operational transfer pricing risk assessments and implement controls to ensure accurate and defensible transfer pricing practices.
- Assisting with statutory and tax audits, and participating in the collection of facts and information to respond to information requests.
- Collaborate with the Compliance team to develop and automate controls in the excise tax calculation and payment process that align with the KPIs of the organization's transfer pricing strategy.
