The City of Henderson, Kentucky, located on the banks of the Ohio River in Western Kentucky (population 27,000) is seeking applicants for the position of city manager. There have been 10 city managers since the 1966 implementation of the city manager form of government. Mayor and 4-member commission; $116M budget.
Successful candidate will have:
- Extensive experience in the areas of administration and operations of city services.
- Municipal or related budgeting.
- Leadership and community development.
Qualifications:
- BA / BS degree in Public Administration / Business Administration or related field required.
- Master’s level coursework (Master’s degree strongly preferred).
- Minimum 6-9 years of increasingly responsible experience in municipal or related private-sector management.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, strategic planning skills with proven public relations and customer service record required.
