Saint Patrick High School, founded in the Catholic and Lasallian Traditions of the Christian Brothers, has been serving Chicago’s youth for more than 160 years. We are seeking collaborative, motivated, curious, and mission-oriented educators who want to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year.

Job Goal: To create a flexible program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students to motivate them to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide an exceptional foundation for College, Careers, and Life after Saint Patrick High School.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to project a positive image of Saint Patrick High School to staff, students, parents, and the Chicagoland community.
  • Must have the ability to travel to/from Saint Patrick High School as needed.
  • Accredited degree from a 4-year college or university or significant experience in the field of Theology/Campus Ministry.
  • Teaching Certification and/or Master's Degree in Education ideal.
  • Ability to complete background check and Archdiocese of Chicago Virtus training.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Takes a sincere interest in each student and his Saint Patrick experience.
  • Makes himself or herself available to the students and reaches out to them.
  • Promotes Christian values among the students and faculty. He or she is a visible presence in the school.
  • Is a member of the Religious Department.
  • Coordinates the school’s daily prayer.
  • Coordinates and supervises Eucharistic liturgies: Masses for Holy Days of Obligation, and other Masses such as Freshman Mass, Junior Ring Mass, and Founder’s Day Mass.
  • Coordinates Reconciliation services during Advent and Lent.
  • Other liturgical celebrations as needed (ex. weekly Mass, student organization Masses).
  • Maintains and oversees the school chapel and sacristy.
  • Coordinates and/or directs the Retreat Program.
  • Is in dialogue with the school’s Lasallian Youth moderator.
  • Supervises the mission collection and program of the school. Promotes a sense of true solidarity with our sister school in Kenya.
  • Supervises the vocation program of the school. Keeps in contact with the Christian Brothers Midwest District vocation director.
