Job Duties
The Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia is seeking applicants for the position of Court Analyst on the General District Court Services Team. The Court Analyst is responsible for providing system development, installation, and technical assistance services to General District (GDC) and Combined District Courts in Virginia for the General District Case Management System (GCMS), and the Financial Accounting System (FAS) and related hardware/software products, providing daily telephone and email support to GDC and Combined District Courts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities - The Court Analyst provides ongoing training and support to court personnel in the use of the General District Case Management System (GCMS), conducting classroom and off-site training. The Court Analyst is responsible for approving the content of the User Guides for GCMS systems, monitoring the approval and development of system changes, preparing test plans and testing modifications to GDC systems, and assisting in the preparation of software change advisory and release notices. The court analyst will also provide ongoing training and support with the Financial Accounting System (FAS) and the court's financial operations. The Court Analyst acts as a liaison with other state agencies, such as the Department of Motor Vehicles and State Police Central Criminal Record Exchange (CCRE), to resolve court issues, including interface enhancements and problem resolution, and helps to maintain the integrity of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), State Police Central Criminal Record Exchange (CCRE) Interfaces.
Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of five (5) years of direct experience with the Virginia General District Courts, including processes and procedures and the GCMS system. A basic understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping experience with the Virginia GDC financial system. Experience with organizational management techniques, demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team setting, communicate effectively orally and in writing, and work productively with legal and business personnel. Strong interpersonal skills, detail-oriented with strict attention to, and appreciation for, deadlines.
Additional Considerations
The position may be eligible for remote work; requires occasional travel throughout the Commonwealth.
