SUMMARY

The Fit Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and fit of our apparel products meet the highest standards. This individual will work closely with Design, Pre-Production, Production, and Quality Control teams to evaluate garment fit, provide technical expertise, and contribute to bringing silhouettes to life. Candidates must be within reasonable commuting distance of the Mumu HQ in Downtown LA. This role’s schedule is hybrid and works in an open office 4 days per week.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in fittings to assess fit and direct the necessary adjustments to patterns, specs, and samples
  • Conduct comprehensive fit evaluations on apparel samples to assess overall fit, comfort, and functionality
  • Maintain company sizing, spec, and grading standards
  • Accurately measure garments using industry-standard techniques and tools to identify discrepancies and deviations from target specifications
  • Assist in the development of samples by reviewing and refining measurements, ensuring that they meet intended spec standards and fit requirements
  • Work closely with Production and Quality Control teams to establish and maintain fit and quality standards throughout the production process
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Photo and Ecommerce to address fit-related feedback or issues, pull Production pieces as needed to audit, and ensure accurate descriptions and measurements are being communicated to the customer online
  • Work directly with the Owners and Design Creative Director to evaluate category spec standards and receive feedback
  • Manage and maintain the Fittings Calendar
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Women’s Contemporary fashion
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, flexible in changing direction as needed
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Word and Excel
  • Candidate must be highly organized and able to prioritize with a sense of urgency
  • Candidate must be a team player, willing and able to work cross-functionally with multiple departments
  • Dynamic problem solving and project management skills
  • Must have proven knowledge of garment construction including points of measurement and sewing techniques

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 2 – 3 years of experience leading fittings
  • Proficiency in patternmaking or garment technical development
  • Formal education in Apparel Production or related experience
  • Able to work and think independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent follow-through and attention to detail

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondences, and memos
  • Ability to write and respond to email correspondence
  • Ability to communicate desired results or changes through technical illustrations
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations to other employees

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have excellent time management skills, be detail oriented and good at following through
  • Able to work successfully with minimum supervision
