We are looking for a Unity 3D Environment Artist to join our on the Precision Sports and Technology platform on a contract basis for 2-3 months. We are an industry-leading company specializing in golf technology, producing cutting-edge launch monitors and simulators. Our focus is on creating immersive virtual golf experiences, and we are currently seeking a talented Environment Artist to join our team.


As the Unity 3D Environment Artist (Contractor), you will have the opportunity to:

  • Design materials and lighting for realistic and visually stunning 4K golf course environments.
  • Create and optimize high-quality materials and textures in Unity URP, with a focus on grass, dirt, rock, and sand.
  • Develop realistic lighting setups for large-scale, outdoor environments in real-time.
  • Design and blend terrains with attention to natural transitions between various surfaces.
  • Sculpt and texture terrains using Unity’s tools, ensuring seamless integration of assets.
  • Apply decals to models, terrain surfaces, and objects to enhance realism.
  • Enhance virtual golf courses using the latest in scene design and lighting techniques
  • Utilize Unity’s terrain painting tools to apply a variety of surface materials and vegetation, crafting natural-looking outdoor environments.
  • Sculpt and manipulate terrain and mesh’s with different brushes (flatten, raise/lower, smooth) to create realistic landscapes.
  • Design and place decals to enhance the detail and realism of the scene (on both 3D models and terrain surfaces).


You have:

  • Expertise in outdoor scene lighting and real-time lighting for large environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of creating and applying Unity URP materials and textures.
  • Proficiency in terrain blending, sculpting, and texturing techniques.
  • Familiarity with advanced material creation (e.g., Parallax Occlusion).
  • UV Mapping and 3D model optimization.
  • Strong passion for environmental art and proven experience working with Unity's Universal Render Pipeline (URP).
  • Experience with creating dynamic 3D grass materials using proprietary shaders.
  • Proficiency in SpeedTree, 3D modeling, and Photoshop or equivalent software.
  • Bonus points for Unity 6 experience.
  • A knowledge of or passion for golf.
