Job Type: RegularTime Type: Full timeWork Shift: Day (United States of America)FLSA Status: ExemptWhen you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives.The Director, of Philanthropy Communications crafts content in support of Beth Israel Lahey Health’s (BILH) comprehensive fundraising efforts and strives to elevate the image and reputation of BILH and its member hospitals to drive revenue-generating philanthropy and donor engagement across the system through donor-facing communications. This includes but is not limited to the development of content for narrative stewardship reports, newsletters, collateral, video scripts, emails, appeals, board communications, internal communications, event content, presentations, and a broad range of system-wide and local hospital-affiliate philanthropic content. The Director will also be responsible for content planning, strategic messaging, and approvals of content, including that generated by direct reports and freelance writers.The Director of Philanthropy Communications maintains close and collaborative working relationships with system and hospital leadership, philanthropy leadership, department administrators, board members, and committee leadership in support of philanthropic objectives. They oversee a team of approximately two direct reports and will also manage key freelance relationships in support of philanthropy communication efforts.Job Description:Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:Develops content for system leadership messaging and the production of system-wide communication including newsletters, marketing content, leadership biographies, events materials, presentation content, speech writing and remarks, and communications content.Partners closely with colleagues in Marketing and throughout External Relations to create timelines and project management plans to ensure that deadlines for content production are met.Develop and implement a Philanthropy content style guide to align with BILH standards, and ensure the accuracy and quality of content distributed by BILH philanthropy teams.Work with key BILH and hospital leadership to create compelling presentations and content to drive philanthropy and donor engagement.Support the communications needs of the Chief Philanthropy Officer to meet the needs of system-wide philanthropy. Work to successfully meet established goals and objectives of the Chief Philanthropy Officer and support system-wide communication to enhance employee engagement and alignment.Oversee the development and positioning of system-wide communications guidelines to ensure continuity and consistency, and that brand message is accurately communicated throughout the system by working closely with member hospital communications teams and BILH leadership.Identify and implement plans to leverage content across the system to streamline resources and improve ROI.Supports the development of messaging platforms to articulate BILH’s and its affiliate hospitals’ philanthropic fundraising goals and alignment to the BILH brand message. Oversees the development and positioning ofsystem-wide communications to ensure consistency and brand messages are accurately communicated throughout the system, working closely with member hospital communications teams and BILH leadership.Shapes key institutional and development-related messages; ensures their accuracy and integrity, that they are inspirational and communicate persuasively to key audiences, and that they are consistent with the efforts to strategically position the system in the philanthropic community.Works to successfully meet established goals and objectives of the Chief of Philanthropy and supports system-wide communication to enhance employee engagement and alignment.Other projects and duties as assigned.As a health care organization, we have a responsibility to do everything in our power to care for and protect our patients, our colleagues and our communities.
