The CS & IT Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of an educational institution's CS/IT programs. This includes strategic planning, admissions, student experience management, recruiting, advisement, and daily operations to ensure the programs success. The individual in this position provides academic leadership for all aspects of the Computer Science program. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Program Development and Curriculum Management Develops and continually improves the CS/IT curriculum, ensuring that it remains current and relevant to industry standards. Collaborate with faculty members to create courses and professional development opportunities that meet the needs of students. Leads graduate curriculum committee activities and navigates proposals, in collaboration with the director and dean, through the university's C&I process. Leads and coordinates assurance of learning. Student Recruitment and Admissions Works with the admissions team to develop and implement strategies to attract high-quality applicants to the program. Assist with applications, conduct interviews, and make final admission decisions. Plays a key role in advising prospective students about the program and its benefits. Student Support and Advising Provides guidance and support to current students throughout their academic journey. Serves as a resource for students, helping them navigate challenges and providing guidance on course selection, internships, and career opportunities. Faculty Management Manages faculty members who teach in the program. This includes recruiting, hiring, and evaluating faculty members, as well as overseeing their professional development. Works closely with faculty to ensure the delivery of high-quality instruction and a positive learning experience for students. Assessment and Accreditation Ensures that the program meets accreditation standards and requirements. Oversees the process of program assessment and evaluation, using data and feedback to make improvements, as necessary. Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to maintain and enhance program accreditation. Alumni Engagement Works to build and maintain relationships with program alumni. Organize networking events, alumni panels, and other activities to foster connections between current students and alumni. Collaborates with the institution's development teams to cultivate alumni support and secure donations for program initiatives. Industry and Community Engagement Represents the program to external stakeholders, including businesses, industry leaders, and community organizations. Establish partnerships and collaborations that benefit the program and its students, such as internships, guest lectures, and consulting projects. Stay abreast of industry trends and developments to ensure the program remains relevant and responsive to market demands. General Academic Program Oversight Serves as the primary point of contact for prospective students. Promotes CS/IT Programs at information sessions, as needed. Reviews applications for admission and makes admissions recommendations to The Graduate School for the CS/IT program. Works with Academic Unit Heads to schedule faculty for CS/IT class offerings Provides written teaching performance feedback to faculty for development and use in the faculty annual evaluation process. Estimates revenues and expenses, by concentration, for input into self-supporting budgets. Updates annually the CS/IT section of the graduate catalog. Writes annual report for CS/IT Programs. Maintains and reports data for rankings, such as U.S. News & World Report, etc. Collects data for use and to recommends continuous quality improvement. Ensures adjunct instructors meet School of Computer Science and ITs outcomes. Monitors student progression and audits graduation applications. Provides academic advising to students. Manages/guides the stu ent grade appeal process. Other duties as assigned.
