The Senior Manager, HRIS reports to the Chief People Officer and is responsible for overseeing the operations, security, training, and continual improvement of NPR's HR systems. This role will be responsible for developing and operationalizing efficient and effective HRIS solutions and platforms. This role works collaboratively and effectively with other People Team leaders and NPR leadership to influence technology strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides subject matter expertise, guidance, and recommendations for HR systems.
  • Experience implementing across key HRIS areas including compensation and benefits, payroll, time and attendance, recruiting, performance management, learning, and document management.
  • Partners with People Team, Finance, IT, external vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure NPR's HRIS systems meet the human capital technology needs of the organization.
  • Establishes service level agreements with internal and external clients for the successful delivery of HRIS services.
  • Develops and oversees impact assessment for any changes to HR systems.
  • Oversees configuration, development, and maintenance of HRIS data, services platform, applications, and other systems used to manage human resources processes.
  • Leads HR system review and implementation, where applicable.
  • Oversees HR technology advancements and ensures there is effective utilization of HR systems.
  • Oversees auditing and review of HRIS data for compliance.
  • Evaluates and implements systems and vendors to support NPR's strategic people priorities.
  • Manages HRIS, including conducting accurate internal and external audits, and system configuration updates.
  • Provides HRIS support, configuration, and maintenance, including running reports, auditing, researching, and resolving HRIS data issues as they arise.
  • Responsible for all HRIS reporting and the development of dashboards for reporting key metrics.
  • Evaluates, assesses, and implements operational improvements, leveraging automation to enhance the HRIS user experience and organizational productivity, for example through continuous auditing, implementation of a self-service model, and continual training.
  • Oversees maintenance of HR systems security to ensure data confidentiality.
  • Supervises at least 2 direct reports, including preparing their regular performance reviews, and making effective recommendations regarding any hiring, promotion, corrective action or performance improvement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with UKGPro and UKG Dimensions.
  • Experience with reporting and using IBM Cognos and IBM Cognos Analytics.
  • Experience with various HR tools: HRIS, LMS, ATS.
  • Experience selecting and implementing HR systems.
  • In depth knowledge of SQL.
  • Ability to grasp new technologies.
  • Strong consultative and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Highest standards for accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to think strategically and objectively.
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Sheets/Drive and Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience with HR systems.
  • Experience working with Greenhouse ATS and Onboarding.
  • Experience working with Lattice Performance Management.
  • Experience working within a unionized environment.
  • Passion and commitment to NPR's mission and values.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in work experience.

WORK LOCATION

  • Remote Permitted: This is a remote permitted role. This role is based out of our Washington, DC office but the employee may choose to work on a remote basis from a location that NPR approves.

JOB TYPE

  • This is a full-time, exempt position.

COMPENSATION

Salary Range: The U.S. based anticipated salary range for this opportunity is $134,000 - $155,000 plus benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salaries NPR expects to provide for new hires for the position across all US locations.

Regular, full-time employees scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week are eligible to enroll in NPR's benefits options.
