Velocity Aerospace Group is a subsidiary of a Precision Aviation Group (PAG), a full service, inventory supported MRO provider in the aviation industry with 27 domestic and international business units. Velocity operates 3 repair stations, specializing in the repair, overhaul, installation and upgrade of electromechanical, digital, pneumatic, avionic and gyroscopic components for aircraft operators and maintainers in the commercial/regional airline, government and defense operation, business and general aviation markets.
Our EDN Van Nuys, California facility has an opening for a Quality Manager position.
The Quality Manager will plan, coordinate and direct quality control program designed to ensure continuous quality of product is consistent with the established standards.
Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and analyze statistical date to determine component specification for quality and reliability
  • Create and maintain quality control objectives and implement inspection criteria and procedures
  • Facilitate airline audits
  • Coordinate objectives on production procedures to maximize product reliability and minimize costs
  • Supervise and maintain inspection and testing activity to ensure continuous improvement on material, facility and product
  • Interpret test data on product to determine root cause of failures and recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain and interpret revision on quality control procedure manual
  • Build rapport with vendor for purchase of quality material for company use
  • Create and direct environmental test functions
  • Design and implement quality control training programs
  • Coordinate, assist and manage quality audit request, investigate customer complaints and adjust accordingly
Requirements include:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S) or 4 years' related experience
  • 6 years' experience working with FAA
  • Ability to work well in a self-directed or team environment
  • Proficiency in computer skills (MS Word, Office, Excel)
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend in English
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work overtime and/or weekends when needed
  • Meet physical requirement: sitting, frequently walking, bending, stooping, climbing and balancing, reaching above shoulder level, kneeling, squatting, lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs, visual acuity and manual dexterity
