Position Description


As an Omics Scientist II at Tritica Biosciences, you'll be a leader in your area of expertise, designing and executing experiments to guide discovery in our platform. Our work is anchored in the central dogma of biochemistry:

DNA → RNA → Protein

You will leverage our analytical resources such as UPLC, LC-MS, UV-Vis, and Atomic Absorption to carry out individual experiments that build on the overall vision of the team. You will be responsible for presenting data and its interpretation to the team during our regular science reviews. Like all team members, you will also be responsible for preparing reports to be shared outside the team as part of a larger collaboration.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct sound research using Design of Experiment principles to provide supporting data for a larger body of work.
  • Keep a clean workspace and contribute to a safe and collaborative laboratory environment.
  • Operate and maintain analytical equipment including LC-MS, UV-Vis, AA, and UPLC, and manage consumable supply inventories.
  • Work with vendors to complete preventive maintenance to ensure continuous operation.
  • Prepare samples and standards with attention to detail, ensuring sample and data integrity from sample prep through acquisition and data processing.
  • Create clear methods and protocols to be used in the lab and shared with outside collaborators.
  • Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain excellent documentation and curate analytical data for informatics.

Requirements

  • PhD or MS degree (2+ years relevant experience) in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field. BS with 4+ years of relevant experience strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to execute bench-level tasks accurately and efficiently to maintain the integrity of experimental results.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation such as UV-Vis, IEX-HPLC, RP-HPLC, LC-MS for product characterization is required.
  • Strong understanding of multi-omics approach to discovery in biological systems.
  • Understanding of laboratory safety and best practices is required.
  • Attention to detail and ability to thoroughly document experimental work in written and digital notebooks.
  • Understanding of cellular metabolism and knowledge of analytical chemistry is a plus.
  • Excellent written skills to author SOPs and technical reports, and verbal communication skills to present internally and externally.
  • Strong preference given to candidates with a working knowledge of bioinformatics and data processing.
