About the Role

You will play a pivotal role in fostering positive relationships with government entities. Your purpose is to strategically engage and influence policymakers, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and advocating for favorable policies, specifically around financial services and government solutions. You will analyze legislative developments and provide insights to support informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing proposed federal legislation and regulations to identify potential business risks and opportunities particularly in the financial services industry.
  • Advocating and serving as a thought leader on federal legislative and regulatory proposals of interest to the company.
  • Working with Congress, regulatory agencies, as well as trade associations, and other stakeholders to advance the company’s public policy objectives.
  • Serving as a strategic partner to company leadership to identify potential business opportunities and provide public policy input to help businesses earn new federal government contracts.

Requirements

  • Educational background in business, government, political science or law
  • Experience working with Congress and the Executive Branch, including federal regulators, especially on financial services, data privacy and data security topics
  • An exceptional understanding of congressional and regulatory processes and effective engagement strategies.
  • A network with Members of Congress, Hill staff, Executive Branch officials, including federal regulators responsible for financial services and data privacy issues.
  • Experience working in a federal government affairs role at a global company, large complex organization, or trade association.
  • An effective communicator with excellent verbal, written, and listening skills.
  • A track record of success in coalition and trade association building and collaboration and experience directing consultants.
  • Highly collaborative with experience working effectively in multinational and matrixed organizations.

The salary range provided in this posting is the base salary range for Washington DC: $150,300.00 - $279,100.00
