The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Nephrology are actively seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics.
Requirements:
- A medical license in California
- Certification or active candidate status in the Sub-Board of Pediatric Nephrology
The Nephrology Division serves a 370-bed tertiary care children's hospital with all surgical and medical disciplines active. The Division cares for an average of 55-60 chronic dialysis patients (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis), 120 post-transplant patients, and 100 patients identified with chronic renal insufficiency. It is a major referral center in the greater Los Angeles area, performing 25 to 30 renal transplants each year.
The candidate will participate in resident, medical student, and fellow teaching, as well as ongoing clinical research projects. Basic and clinical research opportunities are available within the Division and Hospital for qualified candidates. Up to 25% protected time for clinical or basic research can be negotiated for individuals interested in a clinical investigator career. The professional development of its faculty is a priority of the Division. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
