Position Purpose
The Career Pathways Coordinator works under the supervision of the Academic Dean and is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the effectiveness of career pathways, ensuring their compliance with relevant regulations, and providing valuable opportunities for students. Additionally, the Career Pathways Coordinator collaborates with the STEM and Innovation Coordinator to build community partnerships and establish new pathways to enhance students' career readiness
Job Duties
Develop and Supervise Career Pathways
  • Provide support and guidance to CTE faculty and staff in meeting school-level CTE requirements.
  • Evaluate existing Career Pathway programs, identifying areas for improvement and potential opportunities for growth. Provide valuable insights and recommendations to the Head of School (HOS) based on the analysis.
  • Oversee all CTE programming, including course requirements, equipment, staffing, and recordkeeping.
  • Collaborate with community partners and academic institutions to develop and implement new career pathways.
  • Offer dedicated office hours within the College and Careers Connection Center, providing personalized support to students as they utilize Xello and other resources to secure internships, apprenticeships, and work-based learning opportunities.
  • Participate in mid-year and end-of-year evaluations for all CTE employees as needed by the Head of School.
  • Facilitate and organize afterschool workshops, clubs, and activities based on requests and needs.
  • Oversee Certificate Program
Partnerships
  • Engage actively with state and local organizations that advocate and facilitate career pathways and work-based learning opportunities, including the 5 Sector Next Generation Partnerships and the Work Based Learning Allianc.
  • Attend public events to facilitate connections between students and community members who can offer support in their career pathway goals
  • Regularly collaborate with Advising staff to determine relevant learning experiences and share already developed opportunities.
  • Organize and promote "Lunch and Learns" where industry professionals interact with students, answering questions about their professions over lunch.
  • Cultivate partnerships with local businesses and community organizations to arrange tours, job shadowing, and other valuable learning experiences for students.
  • Be present at all leadership, staff, and department meetings upon request from the Head of School.
  • Participate in professional development sessions and attend safety and security training as required.
Grants and Compliance
  • Collaborate with the Network and CSI (Charter School Institute) to secure and manage grants, such as, Perkins, CDIP, and any local opportunities.
  • Coordinate with CSI by submitting a wish list and addressing any additional questions or resubmittals that may be required for grant.
  • Ensure that Advisory Committee meetings are completed and documented twice a year.
  • Ensure that CTSO's are implemented and documented as needed.
  • Work with business manager in completing necessary data reporting (VE 130 - Active Teacher Data) and (VE 135 - Student Data).
  • Oversee all program approvals, renewals, and updates in conjunction with the Head of School.
  • Conduct biannual audits of program approvals to ensure accurate course listings and proper inclusion of instructors.
Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in CTEor closely related field, Masters degree preferred.
  • Teaching license with CTE endorsement or is able to obtain CTE endorsement.
  • 3-5 years of successful teaching experience in CTEor related field.
