POSITION GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Junior Estimator researches and prepares accurate, well-crafted summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates. The Junior Estimator works alongside all the Estimating Team to learn and develop relationships with all the vendors and clients who are an integral part of the Site Division.

POSITION CHARACTERISTICS: An energetic, forward thinking, creative individual with high ethical standards, appropriate professional image, sound technical skills, analytical ability and good judgment. An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and retains good communication skills. This position requires a versatile individual who is results-oriented, able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, well-organized and self-directed.

POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with obtaining scopes of work and pricing from subcontractors & suppliers. Assist in closing bids. Maintain files of working documents for back-up to estimating figures. Assist in the monitoring of conceptual estimates with actual cost data. Assist with calculating various statistical data - quantity take -offs, material price lists, labor costs per man hour, equipment, etc.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Highschool Diploma. Knowledge Required: Basic knowledge of the construction industry. Understanding of financial practices, accounting policies and computer related programs. Experience Required: 0 years of experience Skills/Abilities: Computer skills, Microsoft word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
