Job Summary

Oversees and manages all aspects of the day-to-day provisions of the business: Boatyard, Marina, Hotel and Tenancy. Candidate is responsible for driving revenue for the hotel and marina. Seek advice and consultation/collab with the Managing Director and remain on call as needed to handle all related issues in all aforementioned areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES (But not Limited to)

Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, delegate to and lead a team of maintenance and administration.
  • Liaise with the Group Human Resource Manager for guidance on recruitment and disciplinary issues.
  • Develop and implement processes to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Assess staff productivity to ensure service standards are adhered to.
  • Liaise with and direct Boatyard Supervisor daily with all operational areas (maintenance, haul outs and compound repairs) to ensure safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Liaise with security team (inhouse and external) to ensure proper protocols are followed.

Accounting and Financial

  • Oversee the front desk daily according to the SOP (standard operating procedures) to ensure that all customers are billed and charged accurately.
  • Liaise with the Managing Director on financial impacting decisions.
  • Daily reconciliation of sales with Front Desk and preparation of deposits.
  • Manage and effectively follow up on collections and all accounts receivables in all areas of the business, tenancy, boatyard, marina and hotel.
  • Liaise with payroll at head office weekly and monthly for processing.
  • Liaise with head office accountant and C.F.O. where necessary daily on all accounting related matters.

Marketing & Customer Relations

  • Liaise with the Managing Director to suggest, implement and execute marketing strategies in all aspects of the business.
  • Manage social media accounts and website including directing the graphic designer as needed to drive the business and ensure proper management of our social media presence.
  • Manage Expedia account.
  • Communicate with all customers on all issues.

Purchasing

  • To ensure / liaise for the most cost-effective ways to sustain all costs associated with effectively managing the business.
  • Oversee and manage all supply inventory levels ensuring timely ordering and minimal wastage.
  • Implement cost control mechanisms whilst maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure favourable pricing and terms.
  • Sign off on all purchase orders and follow proper procedures for processing of payment thereafter.

Machinery and Equipment

  • Work alongside the maintenance supervisor to ensure that the Marine Travel Lift is serviced in accordance with manufacturers’ standards. Additionally ensure that all company vehicles and equipment is serviced and maintained in accordance with standards.

Safety and Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure that the compound meets the standards necessary to meet requisite approvals such as CDA, Fire, Health etc.
  • Ensure that all employees and customers (where applicable) operate in a safe environment and in accordance with best practices.
  • Establish and enforce rules and regulations.
