Description
Barkfield Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mobile Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional care and support to pets and their owners in the comfort of their homes. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians during examinations, administering medications, performing basic grooming tasks, and ensuring a high standard of customer service. You will also be responsible for maintaining medical records, educating pet owners on proper care, and ensuring the mobile unit is clean and well-stocked.
Please note: our Mobile Truck on operates Monday - Friday's, so your work schedule will be 7:45a - 5:30p weekdays.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians during in-home consultations and examinations.
  • Provide compassionate care and comfort to pets and their owners.
  • Administer medications and perform basic medical procedures as directed.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with protocols.
  • Educate pet owners on health, nutrition, and wellness.
  • Ensure the mobile unit is clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and follow-ups as needed.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in veterinary technology or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in an animal care role is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology and procedures.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of clients and their pets.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
