Our client in New York, NY has an immediate need for a Senior Systems Administrator to join their team.


*** Please note that this is a 6-month contract to hire opportunity with our client and NOT with Core BTS.


SUMMARY

The Sr. Systems Engineer provides system support and administration to all operational computing systems and related services. The Systems Administrator will demonstrate expert knowledge of how client software behaves to deploy, configure, and troubleshoot systems. Additionally, this Systems Administrator will be responsible for the research of new technologies, leverage configuration and optimization techniques to ensure that systems operate efficiently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides advance knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Power-Platforms such as PowerApps and Power-Automate and be able to translates business requirements into low-code apps development and designs robust workflows.
  • Administers and manages Microsoft Endpoint Manager tools aka Intune including application packaging and updates, creates image templates for provisioning to physical PCs and Windows 365 Cloud PCs, creates policies and configurations profiles, GPOs for end users’ devices.
  • Administers JAMF and JAMF MDM.
  • Administers patching to endpoint devices including installed apps.
  • Administers, designs, monitors and leads innovation efforts in Microsoft 365 Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure AD, Teams, Exchange Online, eDiscovery, Purview and Security features such as DLP and Scuba.
  • Provides advance knowledge and expertise around Conditional Access Policies, MFA, Device Trust, Device Posture, Information Protection, Information Retention.
  • Administers M365 DLP program, implement DLP controls and define standards and policies to protect information.
  • Administers Retention Labels and define policy and scope.
  • Provide troubleshooting efforts and resolves IT service issues related to client computing systems and related servers of hosted services.
  • Performs system troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose problems.
  • Partners with the cloud and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve network related issues.
  • Leverages optimization techniques to maximize the efficiency of end user computer systems.
  • Works with third-party vendors and consultants on developing system-specific skills.
  • Provides automation by using languages such as PowerShell, Bash, VB Script, and AppleScript.
  • Performs root-cause analysis for service interruptions and creates preventative measures.
  • Co-manage end-user security-based applications such as CrowdStrike and Duo.
  • Respond to Security Incidents and be part of security Incident Management team.
  • Assists with upgrades of systems and software components as required.
  • Willingness to learn advanced Open-Source concepts is expected.
  • Responds to needs and questions of users concerning their access of network resources.
  • Responds to help desk requests.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in light programming, project management of small initiatives, and troubleshooting
  • Experience in relevant business systems, operating systems, and servers
  • Experience with Intune/JAMF administration
  • PowerShell scripting experience
  • Bash scripting experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, DNS and GPO
  • Experience administrating Microsoft 365
  • Experience with Azure AD, SSO, Device Trust and Posture, MFA, eDiscovery, M365 DLP and security.
  • Experience with Windows Server Administration
  • Ability to respond to help desk requests


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS Cloud
  • Experience working with cloud and virtualization technologies
  • Experience with Mac and JAMF Administration
