Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Behavior Technician (Outreach) for the GSAPP - Douglass Developmental Disabailities Center.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Implements a variety of behavior analytic strategies to support successful outcomes for children with autism across the areas of skill acquisition and/or behavior reduction in home-based settings.
  • Collects, interprets and, with oversight from the board certified behavior analyst (BCBA), analyzes behavioral data.
  • Contributes to the development of behavior analytic instructional programming under the supervision of a Behavior Analyst.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
  • High School diploma, and/or up to 4 years of relevant office, clerical, bookkeeping, library assistant or related experience depending on the duties to be performed.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the experience requirement.

Certifications/Licenses
  • Current certification or willingness to become certificated as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
  • Certification as an RBT will be required within 30 days of start date.
  • Valid driver's license, and use of personal vehicle to travel to client's home.

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 6 months of prior experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in an ABA setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of organization.
  • Ability to work independently.
