Position: Montereau is currently seeking a PRN Director of Adult Chorus .

Position Summary: An experienced choral director who would enjoy working with a 30+ voice chorus made up of enthusiastic independent living residents at Montereau.

Essential Functions:

  • Chorus rehearses on Monday afternoons from 3:15 pm to 4:30 pm.
  • 6 performances each year: 3 distinct programs, Spring Concert, July 4th concert, and a Christmas program.

Other Functions:

  • Assist Lead Wellness Specialist and Wellness Program Manager in assuring that program materials and equipment inventory is ordered and maintained to support the schedule of wellness activities.
  • Perform other related functions as required or as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a dedicated adult chorus director.
  • Previous experience working with older adults and/or previous training in working with older adults is preferred.

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

  • CPR certification is required.

Job Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to successfully direct a 30+ group of adults.
  • Ability to design program class instruction in an entertaining way to promote ongoing class participation.
  • Basic computer competency and ability to use and learn a variety of software programs, specifically Microsoft Office programs and fitness tracking software; ability to operate electronic audio-visual equipment.
  • Ability to effectively interact with a diverse leadership team, staff, residents, and third-party associates, including vendors, providers, and visitors.
  • Ability to effectively manage sensitive and confidential communications and information, while maintaining a high level of poise, tact, and diplomacy.

Physical Demands:

  • An extensive amount of standing, walking, with a moderate amount of sitting.
  • Ability to routinely lift and push up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent use of ordinary communication, including normal levels of hearing and vision.
  • Ability to use a computer or other office equipment for an extensive period of time.
  • Ability to work extended hours, as required.
  • Ability to occasionally travel by car and/or commercial airline.

Working Conditions:

This position is performed primarily indoors in a climate-controlled setting within either a private or shared office environment. May occasionally perform work outdoors and/or go offsite for resident excursions.

Mental and Emotional Requirements:

  • Understanding and implementing simple written and verbal instructions, and performing basic mathematical computations.
  • Planning own work.
  • Working independently or as a member of a team, and the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Routinely working on multiple projects, under moderate amounts of pressure for results, with frequently changing priorities.

Safety/Security Requirements:

  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background screening.
  • Must successfully pass a tuberculosis (TB) screening test.
