Description
  • Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms; prepares for physicians visits by obtaining initial information.
  • Act as a chaperone for healthcare providers during patient examinations as requested and assists with procedures.
  • Performs height, weight, vital signs and records them into the patient's records.
  • Monitors and cleans assigned patient examination rooms, assures adequate supply stock levels. Reports low inventory levels and necessary equipment repairs. Maintains medication sample closet.
  • Sterilize, package, and autoclave instruments.
  • Perform phlebotomy services:draw blood specimens and send to lab; prepare other lab specimens such as cultures, and pap smears and send to labs. Process fetal lung maturity.
  • Assures correct patient information is in Ultrasound machines and the removal of such information when patient visit is completed.
  • Assists physicians with treatments, examinations and procedures.
  • Documents medication, vaccines, and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
