Role Overview

The Design Manager on the Core Team at Linktree will lead our central design efforts, focusing on enhancing and expanding the design that underpins our core product. This role is crucial as it supports the foundation of our platform, which serves millions of creators worldwide. As a leader within the core team, you will drive strategic design initiatives, ensure product consistency, and spearhead innovative solutions that enhance user experience and brand coherence.

What You'll Do

  1. Lead the development and refinement of Linktree’s design systems, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the product and maintain design excellence.
  2. Manage a team of designers, providing direction and oversight for all design aspects of the core product, including user interfaces, user experience, and interactive elements.
  3. Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers to align design strategies with product development goals and technical constraints.
  4. Conduct and oversee user research and usability studies to gather insights and feedback that inform design decisions and system updates.
  5. Foster a collaborative design culture that encourages feedback and iterative improvements, ensuring high-quality design output and team growth.
  6. Develop comprehensive guidelines and standards for design practices to maintain consistency across the product’s ecosystem.
  7. Mentor junior designers and team members, promoting professional growth and continuous learning within the core team.
  8. Present design concepts, strategies, and updates to senior stakeholders, effectively communicating the value and rationale behind design decisions.
  9. Stay updated on the latest design trends, tools, and technologies to keep Linktree at the forefront of digital design innovation.

What We’re Looking For

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 8 years of experience in digital product design, with at least 3 years in a managerial role overseeing design teams.
  3. Proven track record of developing and managing design systems for scalable web and mobile platforms.
  4. Deep expertise in UX/UI principles, interaction design, and a strong portfolio that demonstrates this knowledge.
  5. Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  6. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a design team towards achieving excellence.
  7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new challenges and shifting project needs.
  8. Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of working cross-functionally and with senior management.
  9. Passionate about building intuitive and aesthetically pleasing user experiences.

Linktree is committed to providing a competitive compensation package. Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $175,000-$275,000 in the San Francisco Bay or Los Angeles area. Please note that this posting is inclusive of evaluating for multiple levels, candidate expertise, and the scope of role. The compensation amount listed above may vary.
