About the Role
Cambio is looking for a Software Engineer (90-day contract-to-hire) who is excited about AI and fintech innovations to be part of our energetic team. This role involves leading the creation and improvement of Aviary and our other AI-powered products, from scratch. As part of our team, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, develop, and launch features that enhance our AI skills and increase our market presence.
This will be a hybrid role, based in the New York area. Expectation is 1-2 days in the office and 3-4 days remote.
Responsibilities
- Design user-friendly interfaces that enable non-technical users to use AI in their work.
- Improve and expand Aviary's AI capabilities, focusing on creating smooth, natural interactions for credit union members.
- Work on the full stack of technologies, including our private large language models, to provide scalable and secure AI solutions.
- Investigate the latest capabilities of LLMs, Retrieval Augmented Generation, and AI agents. Lead development projects from research and prototyping to production.
- Adapt the tech stack and architecture to scale to the growing needs of our customers.
- Help shape the team culture, as well as internal tools and processes.
- Take part in the design and architecture of new features, focusing on automation, scalability, and user experience.
- Be involved in all stages of product development, from idea to deployment and support, ensuring high quality and innovative solutions.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in software development (including internships), with a demonstrated history of building and deploying AI or fintech solutions.
- Experience with AI technologies, especially in natural language processing, machine learning, or related fields, is very desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment, with a high level of independence and responsibility.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with an inventive and analytical way of overcoming challenges.
