Halff has an open position for a Traffic / ITS Engineer, with a Arkansas PE License, to join our Traffic / ITS Engineering team based out of one of our Arkansas offices (Little Rock, Fort Smith, Bentonville or Fayetteville). The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of experience conducting traffic signal and ITS design projects. This role will allow you the opportunity to be trained and mentored by an experienced Traffic / ITS Engineer (PE) and to gain ever increasing professional responsibility. Traffic / ITS Engineer (PE) Responsibilities:
  • Works under a Team Leader (PE) in the development of traffic signal and ITS design projects
  • Manages traffic / ITS projects or tasks in support of business needs
  • Assists in managing the workload of design staff including other Engineers, EIT's, and technical staff
  • Assists in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules
  • Reviews traffic / ITS designs and detailed plans for accuracy and consistency
  • Reports on project progress
  • Collaborates with clients and other consultants
  • Assists with business development activities

Traffic / ITS Engineer (PE) Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in Arkansas, or able and willing to obtain within 6 months of starting date
  • At least 5 years of experience designing traffic signal and ITS design projects.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be self-directed yet a team player, and have focus on quality, integrity and success
  • Proficiency with MicroStation, ORD and Autodesk Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients
  • GIS capability is a plus
  • IMSA II certification is preferred but not required
